Chronic Epididymitis, Swelling And Pain. Used Etodolac. Why Does It Become More Intense?
how to manage chronic epididymitis and the pain. what causes this to become a chronic long term issue. The best medicine I've used is Etodolac. It keeps down the swelling and pain. Without the Etodilac the situation becomes more intense. Why is this? Explain what is happening in a way I can understand. Are there any "LONG Term" problems that could occur? If so, how do I mange this also? Thank you
Hello Thanks for your query.Based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have chronic epididymitis for which you are taking Lodine (Etodolac).
Epididymitis takes long time to recover and only taking non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs will not resolve the issue .You have to take appropriate antibiotics along with these drugs.
Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Please take broad spectrum antibiotics along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.and later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.
Ensure to drink more water. To keep your urine dilute.
