I just cleaned my ear out with a q tip b/c it felt like i had water in it. When i pulled the q tip out it had a big hunk of dried blood on it. All week I have had little spec of dried blood on a q tip end and i have not thought nothing of it. but tonigt there was a lot i used about 10 q tips both ends and there was dried blood on all of them should i go to the doctor tomorrow or just wait and see what happens? Could this be somthing i should worry about
If you do not have any hearing loss then in all probability you may not have ruptured the drum. But this can be confirmed only on examination by an ENT and also if there has been a bleed the doctor may need to clean the area and start medication in case of any infection.
If the doctor does find that there is a hole in the drum then an audiological evaluation is warranted for proper quantification and follow up
this is a general instruction but more specifically in your case the root problem is the use of q tips or ear buds when it is not needed. When we normally chew or swallow, the ear gets cleaned so you do not have to do anything more.
also make sure if you have bled from ear then you should avoid head bath for at least one week lest water enters the ear and keep the ear completely dry. This will ensure proper healing of the drum and ear canal
take care
