Clots In The Brain Detected. Suffering From Paralytic Attack. Is The Clot Formation The Starting Stage Of Stroke? Need Surgery?
my uncle is suffering from paralytic attack. small clot has also been found in his brain on the left part. half body has been paralysed. The infection in the brain has been controled. I want to know whether the clot will get big or not if yes in which conditions ? secondly whether the stroke comes first before the clot formation OR the clot formation is the starting stage of paralytic attack.? whether the clot can be cured by the medicines or the operation. for how many days can he be survived.?
Hello,
First we have to be clear where the clot is? If it is inside the vessel (blood pipe) then a part of the brain gets damaged and paralysis occurs. Other type is when bleeding occurs in the brain and clot forms. This causes pressure over the surrounding area and causes paralysis etc. Clot during one attack usually grows for few minutes to hours only. However recurrent attacks may occur following 1st attack. For most patients medicines are first treatment option and surgery is required in only a selected few patients. It is not a progressive illness and if initial phase tides over then survival can be expected to be good.
Good luck.
