Concerned About Having An HIV Infection Through Infected Needle. Any Antigen Test?

Hi, so sorry to bother you. I went for an hiv test and did not see the nurse open a new needle, but I asked her and she said she did. I also saw the syringe wrap by the side of the needle, but am so scared, its driving me crazy.
My questions are:
1. is it possible to get infected when blood is drawn with an infected needle?
2. I live in Nigeria, is an antigen test reliable?

Hello
welcome to health care magic
thanks for your query
Health care personnel never use a used needle,,because they know the risks very well. That too your nurse told you that it is fresh..believe the nurse..
Regarding your query chances of getting infected by an infected needle is extremely rare(less than 0.3%)..
You can test whether you get infected is by testing your blood by PCR method..
Consult any microbiologist there and get your test.
Thank you
