Congestion In Nasopharynx, Popping Sensation In Eardrum. Used OTC Saline Solution. What Do The Symptoms Mean?

Good evening. The past few mornings, I've woken with congestion in my nasalpharynx. I've use an OTC saline solution to clear it with success. I haven't really had any other head congestion during the day. This morning as I was using a saline nasal wash, I blew my nose and my left eardrum felt like it popped. Should I see my ENT or just take an OTC pain medication.

If it's only been a few mornings and hasn't worsened and is not accompanied by fever, you can continue doing what you're doing. The ear popping you felt is a result of the sudden change in pressure when you blew your nose. This is normal. The official definition of Sinus infection is when these symptoms last 2 weeks. if you feel your condition is worsening, or they last 2 weeks or more, you should see your doctor.
