Constant Migraines Due To Fatty Tumor, Swollen Lepnoids. Gaining Weight After Medication. Advice??
a year ago I was admitted to the hospital with horriable migrains, they prescribed gabapentin 3x a day, due to a fatty tumor that is on my spine, I have a constant migraine every day of my life, now I have swollen lepnoids in my right arm pit that has been here for over a month, when I take my medication I throw up, and I have gained about 35 lbs since starting this medication even though I can not keep anything down. please help.
Gabapentin does lead to weight gain, though 35lbs gain cannot be attributable to gaba alone.
If you had visited my clinic for consultation, I- your treating physician- would have switched over to a combination of TCAs + beta blockers + anxiolytics for migraine.
I am skeptical if the fatty tumor is compressing over the spinal cord/spinal nerves.
I am confident that you will certainly benefit from the advice.
May I assure you that I am always available for your assistance and will try my best to cure your condition to the best of my experience and knowledge.
Please feel free to revert back to me in case of further clarifications, if any.
HAVE A NICE DAY AND A SPEEDY RECOVERY.
Fond Regards,
Dr.(Col) R Karanwal

Dear friend, Thanks for posting your query on this website. I fully appreciate your concerns. Firstly, please clarify whether gabapentin was prescribed for fatty tumor or migraine.
