Constipation, Stomach Pain, Headache, Irregular Periods, On Birth Control Pill. Suggestions?
I have been constipated twice now and I haven't been constipated for years. When I was a baby I was constipated a few times but I out grew it. I've been getting a headache everyday for the past 5 days. And my stomach has recently started to hurt today really bad. These might just be caused from my period but it has never been this bad. I have irregular periods as it is. My last period was April 18th and the one before that was March 25th. I was on the depo shot(birth control) for a year and recently got off of it last June. So I don't think pregnancy is an option right now.
Constipation can be caused by bad diet (low fiber intake, low mineral water intake), chronic intestines infection, thyroid disease, medicines (Ca-blockers, antidepressants), inflammatory bowels disease or even colon cancer. Colon cancer is possible if you are over the age of 50.
If you are a young person, I suggest you to start with diet change. Increase fiber rich products, mineral water intake. Physical activity greatly stimulates bowel movements.
If it wont help, or you are older than 50, some tests should be done. Abdominal ultrasound, blood work, thyroid tests and stool tests should be done.
Hope this will help. Regards.
