Continued Long Coughing Spells After Being Off High Doses Of Prednisone. CT Scan Showed Lot Of Mucus In Left Sinus. Guide

I have had serious coughing as long as 5 mos at a time. This has been for the past 20 yrs. I have gone to several pulmonary drs, ent s,and just went through testing for allergies which came back negative. I just had a CT scanned of my sinuses and it showed a lot of mucus in my left sinus. I was on high doses of prednisone declining dose for two weeks with an anabiotic no coughing during that time but when it went to one pill a day I started coughing and now that I'm off of it I have severe coughing again don't know where to go from here

I believe you have a chronic rhinosinusitis as your CT scan shows a lot of mucus in the sinus. As you were comfortable on high doses of steroids but again worse with small doses of steroids, i believe you should get a proper endoscopic evaluation of your sinus and a biopsy to know the exact pathology.
Sometimes a local steroid inhaler like AVAMYS can help. Consult a chest physician and start it further an aspergillus infection can cause such a chronic disease
