Continuous Humming Without Control, Unable To Stop, Increase In Speed Of Humming When Doing Any Faster Work. History Of Having Mild Stroke. Help
I have had a mild stroke and since then I can't stop humming. It is not a tune, just the same 9 or 10 notes that don't make a song of any kind. IT DRIVES ME CRAZY AND I CAN'T GET IT TO STOP. IT also drive my husband crazy. He is always reminding me that I'm humming and to stop. I sometimes am not aware of the humming until he says something. I also sometimes move my lips and my husband really freaks out. He says I look retarded. Am I loosing my mind? I hum day and night. I wake up humming and go to bed humming. I am also suffering from headaches more often. When I AM DOING SOMETHING AROUND THE HOUSE, THE HIMMING GETS FASTER AS THE WORK I'M DOING GETS FASTER. HELP ME PLEASE!
Hi, Thanks for writing in. As you have written, the humming problem has started after the mild stroke you suffered earlier. Since you have mentioned stroke, I understand that you might have got a CT scan or MRI scan of your brain done earlier (details of which you have not written to us). However, even then, please do not hesitate to consult a psychiatrist with all your old reports. There may be a need so see a behaviour therapist depending on what your psychiatrist further advises. Hope that helps.
