Contraction Kind Of Pain, Loose Motions. Prescribed Antacid And Painkillers. Scan Shows Enechoiec Collection In POD. Explain
Hi, I have had contraction kind of pain last 2 days after eating some outside food, this is the 3rd time I am getting this pulling pain, also had loose motions along with it..I consulted doctor, she gave antacid and pain killer injections and asked to get scan and blood test, scan is all normal it says small enechoiec collection in POD..can someone explain what it means?
Fluid in the pouch of Douglas (POD) is a common finding in people with chronic pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). PID generally are due to sexually transmissible disease with Chlamydia being the most incriminated.
PID presents with lower abdominal pains, vaginal discharges, painful menses, fever etc. Treatment has to be early with appropriate antibiotics else complications such as difficulty in conceiving, ectopic pregnancies etc will set in, in the long run.
Hope this helps you. Best regards Dr Achuo
