Coughed And Pulled Something In My Lower Back. Its Painful. X-ray Indicated Minimul Diffuse Osteophytic Spurring & Facet Disease Present. Is This A Sign Of An Illness?
i am a 60 yr old woman who has been on and off of prednisone for over a yr. i coughed and pulled something in my lower back over a week ago - still painful. had an xray which indicated minimul diffuse osteophytic spurring & facet disease present in lower lumbar facets. mild to moderate degenerative disease. i have a history of low back pain. should i be in so much pain after a week??? thanks
Hi, all the findings in your description are suggestive of degenerative disease in the spine which is normal for your age. But that should not cause you so much of pain. I suggest you to undergo MRI scan to rule out any intervertebral disc lesion or injury to the ligamentous structures. Consult an orthosurgeon and follow his advise accordingly. Hope this helps
