Could A Delayed Period Despite Protected Intercourse Be Due To A Pregnancy?
i had an abortion 3 months back. my periods started exacty one month after my abortion. But they were heavy. this month i have'nt got my periods yet and it is delayed by 10 days. i have had protected sex during the last month. Could it be that i am pregnant?
Hello dear I understand your concern If you are 100 % sure about protected sex then pregnancy is not possible. But still for safer side, go for urinary pregnancy kit and or blood HCG to confirm the pregnancy. In absence of pregnancy following are the causes of delayed period: Hormonal imbalance, excessive stress, thyroid dysfunction, ovarian cyst/PCOS and endometriosis. Above causes should be rule out by consulting the gynecologist after proper investigation like reproductive hormone, USG scan and ovarian follicle study. Period can be induce by progesterone pill/injection after getting opinion from the gynecologist. Hope this may help you
