Could Anesthesia Cause Tongue And Mouth Numbness?

I had surgery a week and one-half ago, and my tongue started going numb two days ago after meals and now I feel it mostly all the time. Also, my mouth is numb and possibly throat because my throat feels different. I had anesthesia and took Cipro for four days after surgery. Could anesthesia (propophyl) or Cipro cause this? How long could it last. Also, felt o.k. until my tongue started going numb a couple of days ago, but feel a little worn down now.

I have gone through your query and can understand..

As per your complain numbness of tongue and mouth post anaesthesia injection can be due to nerve damage that has occurred due to nerve injury by the pricking needle at the time of injection..
Gradually due to injury as the protective covering over the nerve known as Mylein Sheath might have got damaged [demyleination] the numbness appeared..
Mostly needle prick injuries are completely recovered and there is no permanent damage..
As of now you can start taking Vitamin B complex as it help in nerve regeneration and improve the nerve function..
Do warm compresses over the numb areas..
In case if the symptoms worsen or there is no improvement in one month consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated..
