Could Arm Pain And Stiff Neck Be Related To Leaky Heart Valve And Mitral Valve Prolapse?
I am 64 years old woman and was diagnosed with a leaky heart valve over 20 years ago . Last dew months I have been getting multiple skipped heart beats every two minutes, sometimes none in 60 seconds then into the second minute I can get up to 10 skips. I really feel these palpitations when lying down , though they are also present all throughout the day . in the last week I have developed a very stiff sore neck with shoulder and upper arm pain . In the right arm . My cardio said he isn't concerned with my heart valve. Wants me to have a stress test and a ct scan of the lungs . I have read leaky heart valves or mitral valve prolapse coupled with skipped heart beats that number in the thousands per day can cause sudden death . should I be worried. im not getting any answers from my cardiologist. Thank you
They may or may not be related As your doctor suggested, you need a stress EKG to evaluate the pain…. If the beats are very troublesome and interfering with daily activities, you may need EPS (Electro Physiological Study) – invasive, but it is the gold standard.. Prognosis is generally good
