Could Being Irritable, Low Intake Of Solids And Yellow Mucusy Stools With Sleeplessness Be Viral Infection?
Hello, my daughter is 14 months old. She is very irritable, will mot eat soilds in the last 4 days & had yellow mucusy poop the past 2 two days. No fever, just irritable & lack of sleep. Do you think she has some type of virus? She had a cold about a week ago that last nearly 3 weeks, which did start w/ a low fever ( that went away in one day).
Thanks for writing to health care magic. I can understand your concern. Mucus in the stool could be because of infection. A stool examination will help to identify if there is infection or not. Blood in the stool along with fever and pain while passing stool may indicate dysentery. You should consult your doctor at the earliest for a complete physical examination. Your doctor may order certain investigations based on the physical examination findings. Your doctor may order for stool routine examination if required. Further management depends on the diagnosis made. So consult your doctor for a examination to identify the cause. Continue to ask further queries as required. Hope this helps. Take care.
