Could Breathing Dust From The Heating And Aircon Vents Have Caused Hyperaeration In Both Lungs?
I just had a chest X-ray. Hyperaeration is seen in both lungs. I have lived in a house for over three years that has emitted dust (tested as newspaper and drywall) out from the heating and air conditioning vents. Could breathing this debris have caused the Hyperaeration?
Hello dear, thanks for your question on HCM. I can understand your situation and problem. Yes breathing of dust and debris if continuous can cause hyperinflation on chest x ray. If you are not having any symptoms, then no need to worry much for this. But if you are symptomatic like cough or breathlessness then you may need PFT ( pulmonary function test ) to rule out bronchitis and inhaled bronchodilators for the treatment. So consult pulmonologist if you are symptomatic.
