my wife s total cholesterol were 248 a 1 1/2 months ago. she is on a strict diet and does a treadmill session of 30 mins, 6 days a week. stayed away from statin therapy. will this help in reduction of cholesterol levels in future? does catla fish increase cholesterol?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Total cholesterol value of 248 is moderately high & may not require statins. You should increase fibers in diet by food such as whole wheat, oats, raw fruits, etc & decrease intake of hydrogentaed fats such as milk fat, hydrogented vegetable oil, etc. Fish doesn't contain any harmful fats so can be taken while suffering from high cholesterol. Also it contain omega 3 fatty acids that are good for heart.
Hoping your query is solved Get well soon.
