Could Chronic Cough Be One Of The Symptoms Of Diagnosed Leukemia?
MY 72 YEAR OLD FATHER IN LAW WAS JUST DIAGNOSED W/ LEUKEMIA (NOT SURE WHAT KIND YET) YESTERDAY. HPWEVER, HE HAS HAD A CHRONIC COUGH FOR OVER A YEAR. THAT WAS FIRST DIAGNOSED AS HIS BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS - THEY WERE SWITCHED & ALTHOUGH THE COUGH EASED SLIGHTLY - IT'S STILL QUITE CHRONIC. IS THIS A SYPTOM OF HIS DISEASE?

He may have chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It is very slow growing leukemia and diagnosed accidentally. He may have blood test due to cough or some other cause and it detect that leukemia. Please send me his report. Treatment depends on type and stage of leukemia. Chronic cough itself is not the first symptoms.

However it is not the symptoms of leukemia. But it leads to blood test and it detects leukemia accidentally. Chronic lymphocytic leukemia can present without symptoms and diagnosed accordingly. Just consult your oncologist and take treatment of your leukemia according to type and stage.
