Could Constant Stuffy Nose Causing Breathing Difficulty Indicate Nasal Problem?

I would like to know if i have a nasal problem. My nose feels a little stuffed all the time even when im not sick. I find it harder to breath through my nose. I looked into it and some of the causes are from physical damage. I remember when i was younger i was hit on the nose playing football with friends and i remember walking into a door, im not sure what the problem is because i dont have any serious pain. What is your opinion?

Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern that you have a constant stuffy nose and it is causing difficulty in breathing. Your condition mostly fits into 'Deviated Nasal Septum with/without Sinusitis'.
Yes, as you have given the past history of injury to nose while playing football could be the cause to this. Anyway, keeping this also, your condition needs to be evaluated.
You can do 2 things for your problem.
1. Try with conservative means and see for a month if your situation improves and maintains.
For this you can take Tablet. Montelukast 10 mg with combination of Levocetirizine dihydrochloride 5 mg, once a day. Take steam inhalation twice daily. Drink honey mixed with lime juice in hot water in the morning. Drink a glass of warm milk mixed with turmeric at night.
If your symptoms improves, then you can continue to do so regularly. Remember, this doesn't work in acute conditions.
2. If the above things doesn't respond satisfactorily, then you need to consult ENT surgeon and get evaluated and treated for deviated nasal septum and chronic sinusitis.
Hope the information provided would be useful.
Wish you good health.
