Could Constipation And Black Stools Be Normal While Suffering With IBS?

I have been diagnosed with IBS a couple of years ago. I take reflux meds and celexa and Xanax for anxiety and depression. I work night shift and I m always tired and not so active. My stools are black and tar like. I often am constipated and must take stool softener. Is this common?

your treatment mis alright. take bland diet avoid alcohol smoking and avoid hot tea or cofee.if there is noimprovment then consult gastroenterologist and have further investigation. surgery can be last option.
