Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Constipation And Rectal Bleeding Be Due To Endometrial Ablation?
I am 47 y/o, 5'6" 148 lbs. I had an endometrial ablation almost 3 yrs ago. I had a heavy amount of bright red blood in my stools for a few days (it was definitely from the rectum). I used to have looser bowels and an incredibly strong bladder. I have always done Kegels daily. In the last few years since the EA, I have begun to have stress inconitnence episodes (sneezing or jumping...not good when you are a college cheer and dance coach) I often am constipated and have to push up into my vagina to help work the stool out or dig it out (not fun)...I also have occasional period of urination during orgasm (really not fun). Could all of these be due to my ablation? Is it possible that a perforation occured during the procedure. I was told that the rectall bleeding was normal following the procedure when I called the office. Sny ideas???
Warm welcome to Healthcaremagic.com I have evaluated your query in details .
* There is transient effect over urinary or bowel movements in form of constipation , dysuria upto some days of endometrial ablation ; but not at 3 years period .
* Seemingly this is likely hemorrhoids for rectal bleeding ; urinary incontinence needs detailed evaluation with uroflowmetry with urologist consultation .
Wishing you fine recovery . Feel free to ask any further queries .
Regards .
