Could Crestor Be The Cause Of Extreme Pain In Hip Joint And Leg?
Hi Doctor, I started taking Crestor 3 weeks ago. Two weeks ago I developed severe pain in my right hip and incredible stiffness and tightness in my right thigh. I had a total hip replacement approx 4 years ago. Could the Crestor be the cause of extreme pain in hip joint and leg.
Yes it is most likely the cause of your symptoms. One of the side effects of using crestor (rosuvastatin) is muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness, joint pain etc. So it appears that your symptoms given the time of their onset are clearly related to use of crestor. However, I do suggest you see your treating physician immediately and report the issue.
Hope this helps
