Could Dry Eyes, Heartburn And Acid Reflux Be Due To Sjogren's Syndrome?
Hi Doctor,
This is Preetha , a resident of india aged 27 years. Lately i have been going through some weird symptoms whichb include dry eyes, acid reflux/heartburn and numbness/tingling in my arms and feet and occassionally other parts of the body. There is also pain in the arms/feet. I did brownse through the net and felk like i might have what they call sjogren's syndrome? I am a resident of bangalore and i would like to know if there are any top doctos in bangalore whom i can consult. I am quite scared abt the long term effect of these numbness/tingling symptom.Please advice

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. It does not appear to be Sjogrens syndrome. Dry eyes could be due to more exposure and associated dehydration.
2. Heart burn and acid relux are commonly due to stress and reduced pressure in gastro-esophageal sphincter.
3. For dry eyes, you can apply normal saline or use any drops like 'dry eyes' only. For heart burn and acid reflux, you need to avoid stress and take proton pump inhibitor with domperidone combination. You can try it for 15 days. It will help. After that you can continue, until symptoms completely disappear. Importantly avoid lying down immediately after food.
