Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Acid reflux is caused when acid present in the stomach flows up into the oesophagus which causes burn in the lower chest resulting in heart burn. possible causes may be hiatal hernia, chronic smoking, and obesity, stress levels, spicy meals at irregular times. Some drugs also cause this- antihistamines, calcium channel blockers, painkillers, sedatives, and antibiotics when taken on a empty stomach.
Pregnancy also causes this condition. Follow these below instructions:
1. Avoid caffeine, alcohol, tobacco for the time being.
2. Take small bland meals with high fiber content.
3. Avoid spicy foods, carbonated drinks, and pickles.
4. Don't lie down immediately after eating take 2-3 hours gap.
5. Take plain
Pantoprazole daily for 2 weeks twice on empty stomach in the morning and at night.
If the symptoms persist after all these,
consult a gastroenterologist to have an
endoscopy and have conclusive treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
