Could Elevated Sugar Levels Be Due To Stress?

Hello! Thanks for asking! I have been a nervous wreck ever since my doctor said that I was prediabetic, 18 months ago. She stated that I would be a full blown diabetic within six months. My fasting blood sugar was 109 and my a1c was 5.5. Now my a1c is 6.0 It had stayed at 5.7 for a year. Two months ago my fasting blood sugars stayed in the lower 90 s.Then for no reason, they went up to around 103 and stayed! I have been stressing about these events so much that I am literally sick to my stomach and have constant panic attacks. My post prandial readings are normally no higher than115. But, if Iam stressing, It will go, say, up to 130, down to 122 and then to 141, before going back down.My question is, could this be because, I cannot! calm myself down. I do appreciate your opinion. Thank You

Hi,

There are many reasons for elevated blood sugar levels. One is hereditary, another one is your food habits. Eating more sugary foods especially at night can lead to early diabetes. Do not skip breakfast.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
