Could Excessive Bloating And Tightness In Abdomen Be Symptoms Of GERD?

Sir, I have been suffering with symptoms of disturbed digestion like excessive bloating and tightness of abdomen after a meal with difficult eructation without any relief for over 3 years. sometimes antacids bring slight relief. For past three years i have been living in a highly stressful environment but now it s OK. Recently with these symptoms, I have also heartburn problems. Am i suffering from GERD?

Hello

Your symptoms may be due to reflux/GERD.

You may need clinical correlation and few more investigations like routine hemogram,random blood sugar,liver function test,urine RE/ME,ultrasound of abdomen.
Upper GI endoscopy can be done after evaluation.

I suggest to take combination tablet of pantoprazole 40 mg and domperidone 10 mg twice daily half hour before food for 10 days.Then one tablet can be taken for four weeks.
You may need to take few more medicines depending upon endoscopy and biopsy report.
You should avoid alcohol if you take it.
Take your food at regular intervals.Avoid oily and spicy food.
