Could Fatty Liver And Gastritis Cause Severe Pain, Fatigue, Blood In Stools And Nausea With History Of Removal Of Ovarian Cyst?

Hi, I was admitted to the emergency department 2 months ago with really sharp pain in my waist and lower abdomen and and in my back a bit at the waist, they removed an ovarian cyst but that s all they found. As well as the pain I have been having chronic fatigue for months, tiredness in the day time where I can t stay awake, nausea, change of bowel habit, blood in stools, and generally feel awful. I was told a couple of years ago I have a fatty liver and I also had gastritis 3 years ago I just can t cope with the pain anymore please help

Hello,

You seems to have experienced different health issue recently. While ovarian cyst seems to be the underlying reason for the pain abdomen that took you to hospital and have emergency surgery, the other conditions gastritis and fatty liver can give upper abdomen.

Presence of fatty liver can cause low energy levers and easy fatigue. Liver disease can worsen or cause gastritis, especially is long standing. Blood in stools can result from severe gastritis but there may be other reasons which will require separate investigation and assessment of intestinal function.

My view is that you have been through a recent surgery and body requires time to heal and emerge yuvak kh recover from it. Give your body rest and time. In the meantime review your diet and lifestyle. Low fat and less spicy or high acid content diet would help with fatty liver and gastritis. You might be able to get a prescription of anti acid medications such as ondansentron or omelrazole from your local doctor after checking that there are no contraindications to their use in your case. If symptoms don’t settle over next 6-12 weeks then detailed assessment, repeat scan and blood tests -and endoscopy may be required.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Sabina Hussain, OBGYN, Gynecologic Oncology
