Could Itching And Swelling Around The Lips Be The Symptoms Of Urticaria?
Hi I have hives, been to 10 doctors and the majority say it is from hashimoto and the synthroid . Every once in awhile i have a small itch around my lips and then the selling starts and travels all the way around my lips through out the day. I m wondering if it is hives or is something eles going on. I take zyrtec daily to control hives.
Other causes include toothpastes, certain skin cosmetics etc..
So my suggestion is to consult an Allergist or Immunologist and get evaluated, an allergic test can be done to rule out the exact cause of symptoms..
In case if allergen is ruled out then antiallergic medication like Zyrtec which you are already taking will be continued along with steroid shot to relieve acute symptoms..
In case of recurring episodes Immunotherapy can help in making symptoms less Severe..
Hope this information helps..
Regards..
