Could Mass In Lungs Indicate Cancer?

Multiple nodules on lungs they called a lung mass. I have a 15 mm size mass conspisious in auxuillary and I dont have TB or Sarcoidosis I ask doctor for a cancer test and he told me I was to young to have cancer even though it runs HIGH in my family, my brother had bone cancer at age of 8 and is back agian, just wondering if this cancer thing is possible. I am a 44 year old female.

Thanks for your question on HCM yes you are right. Cancer runs in family, so with positive family histroy any nodule in the lung should be thoroughly investigated. I need some more information about your nodule. Means size , shape, border , calcified or not, associations with surrounding structures etc. Each and every point is important to differentiate between benign and malignant nodule. But the diagnostic is tissue sampling either by fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) or by biopsy. So discuss these with your doctor and go fo either FNAC or biopsy for confirmation.
