Hi Dr, I am an Indian. age 37, trying to give conceive. i have my blood sugar above 200 and was suggested to take dimet 850mg. earlier was taking glycomet 500. usually will have regular periods 29days cycle, but after taking this dimet have not got my periods. is there a chance of me conceived or dimet have side effects affecting my menstruation . pls advise. and also let me know if amh levels are optimal above 5, mmeans increased chances for conceiving naturally . pls advise.
Hello, Both tablets contains the same medicine metformin but in a different dose.earlier you was taking 500mg and now 850mg.Since your blood sugar levels are high and also you are planning to conceive metformin will be appropriate medicine for you.there are no side effects of this related to menstruation infact this helps in regularising menstruation. So lets have a consult with your gynecologist for the cause. Amh levels are used to assess the ovarian reserve. Though its not the best test but it gives a rough idea about the chance. Hope this helps.Thank you.
