Could Pain In Upper Stomach, Swelling And Constipation Due To Severe Vomiting After Intake Of Tamaflu For Flu?

Last week I was diagnosed with the flu. Was given a breathing treatment and prescriptions for Tamaflu and an inhaler. That night, I threw up violently several times from the Tamaflu. A week later, and my upper stomach hurts and has a good deal of pressure, can't get comfortable, it feels swollen..am also constipated. Did I hurt myself when I threw up last week?

Nausea & Vomiting are one of the commonest symptom of Tamiflu that could start within few hours after taking the first dose. I don't think that vomiting a week before would have hurt, since the usual course of Tamiflu is for 5 days, and it can result in the following side effects that can last for few days after the last dose: Abdominal pain & cramps, Bloating (it feels that the stomach is swollen), and sometimes constipation.
I would recommend you to take OTC stool softener, I prefer Miralax powder, mix one packet with 6-8 ounces of milk at room temperature. It should resolve your constipation and bloating and stomach pain.
Aslo avoid fatty and greasy food, very hot and cold beverages as they would increase the bloating and pain. Instead try green vegetables and fruits and fibrous diet. That should help resolve all the symptoms a couple of days. If the symptoms do not change then please contact a doctor ASAP.

Hope it helps and if you have any further questions please feel free to ask.
