Could Painful Abdominal Cramps, Nausea And Light Spotting Indicate Ectopic Pregnancy?

Hi I have been having REALLY painful (7-8 on a 10 scale) abdominal cramps and morning nausea for the past week. I noticed light spotting yesterday that just wiped away and it s back again today very light . I usually have my period at this time of the month however Its normally HEAVY. I had my tubes tied (mini lap. C/ silicone bands) 6 weeks after giving birth 2 years ago. Should I be concerned about eptopic pregnancy?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Usually an ectopic pregnancy leads to worst pain of life and that too due to rupture. I would suggest you take a urine pregnancy test done. If the results are positive then go ahead and get an Ultrasound done. The drawback of silicone bands is they slip, but that's not common. Rest will settle in a few days and the cycle might as well start.
Hope this was helpful.
