Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I m a 28yo white male. There are times I feel like I have heart palpitations but I m not 100 percent sure. I went to my doctor a few months ago and got a physical. He did an Ekg and said everything was normal blood pressure was great. I did quit drinking caffeine and I do not smoke or drink at all. I am a little bit overweight which is the only thing I need to keep working on and I also try to eat healthy. I m 5 7 210pounds trying to get to 170. In 2009 I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. My anxiety is a lot more manageable today but I still have Panic attacks and think sometimes that the Palpitations are just a sensation of my anxiety. I read somewhere a doctor posted saying that they had patients hooked up to a heart monitor for 24 hours who reported Palpitations but there was no abnormal rhythm found. So my question is am I worried over nothing? Is it possible that I have a sensation of a Palpitation when really what I m feeling is completely unrelated to my heart? Please let me know your opinion. Thank you very much.
Hello sir, Good morning, I read your history completely in which you mentioned c/o palpitation... For that you investigate by ekg(ecg) but it is normal N you also mentioned that in past you are diagnosed that you have G.A.D. N treated for that... N may be still you had this n you had palpitation due to this...but still you didn't mentioned any other sign n symptoms so for conclusion I need one councelling session with you... So I suggest consult your psychiatric physcian for that... Thank you, Regards, Dr.Ravi Kotecha
