Could Palpitations, Rapid Heartbeats, Raised BP, Cold Hands After Stent Placements In Arteries Be Due To Anxiety?
Im 46 yrs.old and just had 6 stent placement in my arteries. Now Im back to work and every morning preparing myself I am experiencing palpitations and rapid heart beats , my B/P would go up, my hands are cold and clammy. I dont have chest pain or any shrtness of breath. Would this be anxiety and how would I deal with it?
Dear Sir Thanks for writing to HCM. Episodes of palpitation/ high BP may be related to anxiety but it is not the only cause for them. You must see your cardiologist to get it established. If you feel you are stressed , worried about something known or unknown, then likelihood of episodes due to anxiety is more. However if symptoms comes without provocation/ recipitating situation, or are associated with exertion, they may have some substantial cause. At times missing a dose of your medication can cause these symptoms. Hope this helps. Sincerely Sukhvinder
