Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Could Plantar Fasciitis In Foot Cause Pain On Top Of Foot?
I have plantar fasciitis in the right foot. The discomfort is not in the heel, but rather the arch of the foot. I also have pain on the top of the foot, left side. Could the plantar fasciitis be causing pain on top of the foot as well as the arch. I have been wearing Asics athlete shoes for walkers with Superfeet inserts for years. Should I see a podiatrist? Would a cortisone shot help? I also have a bad right knee and I will also have to have a knee replacement at some point. (no cartilage; bone on bone). I have already had left total knee replacement. Could the bad knee be causing the foot to develop plantar fasciitis or is the plantar fasciitis causing me to be experience more knee pain.? Please advise. Thank you. Peggy
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if you do have such bone conditions and already gone through knee replacement then this can be planter faciitis if this is not confirmed then better to get done the test and confirm this, although chances of this is very minimal, you need to pay attention toward the orthopaedic conditions beside the heel pain, hope this information helps, have a nice day.
