I had a uteran ablation yesterday and the Iv was in my left hand. I was taking Motrin 600 mg and perks yesterday but that last pain med was takin at midnight last night. Tonight around dinner time my upper left arm started getting very hot and red. It is still that way now. It is hot from the shoulder down to the elbow and red. I do not have any pain or swelling. This feels like I have a sunburn just on that part of my body I did check to see if I had a temp and I do not. Do you have any thoughts
Hi. As per your case history you are having urticaria. My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid fast food and food with artificial colors for 2 months. 2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for 7-10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid, hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
