Could Shortness Of Breath Be A Result Of Undergoing Anesthesia?
I had debridement of a surgical incision on my elbow approx. 17 hours ago under general anesthesia. I have been feeling slightly short of breath for the past 3 hours but it is causing me to not be able to sleep. Should I go to the ER about this or is this common?
Hello, You should call for help and go to Emergency room. After general anaesthesia there can be cardiac or respiratory reason for the shortness of breath. This should not be taken lightly and should get examined. You need to get done an Urgent ecg (electrocardiogram ) for the cardiac or heart status. After get the lungs examined for any abnormal sounds. In doubt do reply
