Could Smoking Cessation Using Lozenges High Sugar Levels?

Good morning - -I am 60 in reasonably good health, active and have just stoped smoking using Nicorette lozenges.I do have a bit high sugar levels - - my doctor suggested I monitor but at this point she doesn t think it s to much of a concern. My gradfarther did have diabetes. There is no history of hgh blood pressure.I am wondering what are the issues associated with smoking cessation using the lozenges with respect to my sugar levels. Thank you.

Hi,

lozenges contains sugar and hence the there may be slight increase in blood sugar levels. The quantity is very less and hence it does not affect much. When comparing risk benefit, stopping smoking is better.

So no need to worry and monitor your sugar levels.

Regards
