Could Spironolactone And Levothyroxine With Birth Control Cause Blood Clots In Urine?
Hello, I have recently been put on spironolactrone and levothyroxine along with a birth control pill. My last day of my period was within the last two days. Early today I saw blood clots in my urine and tonight I have the constant urge to pee and a burning sensation along with blood in my urine. is this a major occurrence?

Hi,
There is no known inter action between the double hormone Birth control pills and spironolactone or levothyroxine. Hence this type of irregularity in menstrual flow or type of discharge, look like due to initial side effects of Birth control pill. This type of side effects with Birth control pills are very much normal and usually self limiting. These do not require any treatment usually.
Symptoms of constantly urge to pee and burning sensation during micturition may be a co-existence of UTI. Some times, only making yourself hydrated with adequate fluid intake will solve this problem. However, if the problem does not subside, then you are advised to see your doctor for proper diagnosis of urine infection, if any and treatment accordingly.
