Could The Bumpy Rashes On The Arms Be Due To Malarone Prophlaxis?
Hi. My family has been taking malarone prophylaxis and my sons have both developed an itchy bumpy rash on their arms. They have had this for a couple of days and only now occurred to us that this could be due to the malarone and not sunscreen or bug cream. Should we have them stop the treatment (2 days early) n

It is possible that it is an allergic reaction to the medication but it may also be an allergy to the sunscreen or repellant that you are using.
IF there are no additional symptoms, then you may want to consider the use of an antihistamine to reduce the allergic response and continue the use of antimalarial since you are not sure that this is the cause and it is important.
If there are additional symptoms such as swelling then you can consider discontinuing but you should speak to your doctor about an alternative regimen.
