Could The Facial Numbness And Headaches Be Due To Trigeminal Neuralgia?
my sister in Las Vegas, NV has had eye pain and eye ulcers which took years to heal. Now she has headaches and facial numbness and pain in her eye again. she went to lots of doctors, the last put her on neurontin which helped so she went off 5 months ago, now her headaches and facial numbness are back. One doctor told her she had trigeminal neuralgia or something to do with trigeminal nerve. she is at wits end. what do you recommend
Hi, it could very well be Trigeminal neuralgia. It should be seen by a Neurologist if you can. It is nagging problem I agree. You might benefit from local infiltration of Steroids into the nerve. But, check with your Doctor before. There are some Nerve modulation and regeneration medicines which you can try. Do let me know if I can help with more queries. Take care, Dr Rishi, New Delhi, India.
