You can differentiates the herpes from the others by the presence of the pain. If you are having burning pain at the tip than it is herpes. If its not burning pain or pain is absent you can count it as a non herpes or other infection. I advice you should do Grams staining from the discharge. It gives us idea of what it is. If it s bacterial infection Grams staining will say about the infection. If it s viral than nothing will be seen on the Grams staining. Treatment taken as per the report will be great in curing the infections. But as per your description it won t look like the viral infections like herpes but it looks like some bacterial infection. Please avoid intercourse during the period. If sexually active both the partner should take the treatment. Please maintian good local hygiene. You can do that by frequent cleaning.
