Could The Large Cystic Hygroma In A 12 Week Old Foetus Which Was Cured In 4 Weeks Be Just A False Alarm?

Me and my wife are pregnant, well she is? But my question is at 12 weeks our baby had large cystic hygroma by 16 weeks it was completly resolved and three days ahead. We had heart scan and etc everything checked out ok, the doctor said it may have not even been cystic hygroma, and everything so far is devolving perfect. Could that access fluid have just been normal and the heart not been pumping fluids at 12 weeks since they can range from 9 to 15 weeks to mature?

Hi Cystic hygroma is a lymphatic problem ,if detected early considered to be associated with chromosomal anomaly. It is unlikely that it goes away in 4 weeks.
But even if it was wrongly diagnosed or whatever, you should go in for Quadruple marker test along with Level 2 scan and see the things. Still time is there for both these tests (18-20) weeks.
Thanks.
