Could The Over Dosage Of Amoxcillin In A Person Can Lead To Death?
hello , I know a 4 yr old who passed away suddenly a few days ago. the parents thought it was the flu for a few weeks because he had vomiting ,diarreah and a severe rash all over his body. they heard him fall out of bed during the night and went to check on him and found him unresponsive with his lips turning blue and rushed him to the small town hospital where they were able to get a heartbeat back on him and transport him by ambulance to a larger hospital 40 miles away sadly his heart stopped again and they lost him before he got there. they kept asking his mother what she had given him and she told them nothing. they said they thought it was meningitis. however we recently learned she had been giving him his little brothers old script of liquid amoxicillin and had given him a double dose very shortly before his death. his brother was allergic to it. is it possible that this caused his death? Cps and the police came to their house today to take photos and talk to them but told them it was routine in the death of a child. But I am under the understanding that it is not routine. could an amoxicillin allergy have caused this boys death? an autopsy was performed Tuesday. This is my grandchildrens stepbrother and I am now seriously concerned about their welfare when they go to their fathers every other weekend. I need to know his wife did not cause her own childs death
Allergic reactions to medicines are well known. When it comes to amoxycillin, it is a drug of penicillin group, which causes severe allergic reactions.
It is also common for amoxycillin allergic reaction to cause death of patients, especially when first aid is not given in time.
All the best! Dr.Benard
