Could The Pain In The Lower Abdomen Be Due To The Cyst On The Ovary?

I have bad pain in my lower abdominal pain, which i have had checked out many times, and i just got told it was nothing, besides i had a cyst on my ovary, but it was tiny and was not causing problems and that since i am already on my birth control the hormones take care of it. But this pain has been mostly for the last few months and the only thing that helps when it really flares up, but is always some there, just worse at times, is midol and a heating pad. Its so bad i want to cry a lot of the time.
