Could The Sharp Stabbing Pain In The Back With Itching Be Shingles Or Pinched Nerve?

went to the doctor because I had Sharp stabbing pains in my back it was itching they said it probably shingles I ve completed the medicine and its still hurting nothing ever came up I believe is a pinched nerve what do you think it is. Its very painful

Te pinched nerve produces radiating pain starting from back to leg right up to foot and going via back of thigh and legit may be associated with tingling/numbness in the foot or leg .This pinched nerve sometimes lead to weakness in foot with difficulty in walking on toes or heel.
