Hello,
You have
high blood pressure and cholesterol, you are diagnosed with an
enlarged heart. You have history of an accident that occurred in 2009 and since then you experienced problems controlling your right hand reflexes. Presently you are suffering from back pain and herniated discs. You also experience right side numbing and herniated discs.
You are suggested to get treated for herniated discs, treatment includes therapy, conservative treatment and in case you do not respond to treatment you will be recommended surgery.
Physical therapy helps to minimize pain in the
herniated disk. Opioids, muscle relaxants, corticosteroid injections are helpful. You can take Naproxen or
Acetaminophen, one SOS when required to get rid of pain and discomfort.
Since you have problem in your right side, you are experiencing numbing and also difficulty walking with your right leg you are suggested to get done
Nerve conduction study,
electromyography (EMG). You will be treated accordingly with neuropathic medicines like Neurontin or Cymbalta, etc. Your treating doctor may recommend surgery if there is difficulty in walking or standing, numbness or weakness, poorly controlled bladder function, etc.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
