Hi.
A few hours ago, I prepared a cup of instant rice, then dumped it into another cup to cool off. The other cup was disposable plastic (I wasn't thinking), and in a few seconds I noticed the cup fogging up and warping under the heat. I immediately dumped the rice back into its original microwave-safe cup. The food couldn't have been in the melting/warping plastic cup for more than 30 seconds, tops. It didn't taste or smell suspicious, so I ate it. Now, I'm feeling the symptoms of a sore throat. (My roommate has been sick for days, so it could also be that. However, I've been fine around her the whole time, and when I looked up others who were afraid they'd accidentally ingested traces of melted plastic, some of them reported feeling ill too, so I thought I'd make sure.)
Do I have any cause for concern?
Thank you!
