Could The Swelling In Finger Be Due To The Snake Bite?
My husband was bitten by a water moccasin two years ago. He did receive the anti-venom while in the hospital for 2 days. This week his finger (where he was bitten) started swelling. Could this be from the snake bite or most likely something else? He didn't injure it in any way..

Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Praveen G's Response
Hello, Welcome to HCM, Swelling around the area where you have been bitten is commonly seen with this snake bite. As you taken the medicines to clear off the venom from your body, nothing to worry with the swelling. To reduce the swelling you can put hot pack on that area. On your doctors advise you can take serratiopeptidase enzyme to reduce the swelling. Thank you.
