Could Using The Cream Used By A HIV Infected Person Dangerous?
I have an std and I recently used my friends lotion. I forgot my lotion at home.. I usually use lotion because my hands crack and bleed often. After I used my friends lotion she explained that she uses her lotion when she has a cut. She recently found out she has hiv... I am terried! Thinking thati might of gotten it from her.. Anyone who can give me an answer it will be helpful
Thank you for query.Usually there is not much possibility of transmission by the route described as there would not be contamination of blood /or secretions into the lotion and in turn it getting transmitted to the uninfected person. If there is touch of secretions of either of them there are remote chances.also the virus may not remain active outside for long time.still for removal of fear or anxiety sharing of lotions can be avoided. You can get back for any clarifications.Dr Bharatesh D Basti Dermatologist.
